Getting Started with VidMost

Meet VidMost, the personal browser with AdBlock, privacy protection, picture-in-picture, and a built-in Link Library. Here's how to set it up in minutes.

Welcome to VidMost

VidMost is a personal browser with the essentials built in — AdBlock, privacy protection, picture-in-picture, a Link Library for the pages you bookmark, and a one-keystroke Side Bar. No extensions to hunt down. No setup walls to climb. Open it and the protections are already on.

This guide walks you through installation and a quick tour of what each feature does for you.

Install in Three Steps

  1. Download the installer from vidmost.com
  2. Run the installer and follow the on-screen prompts
  3. Launch VidMost — AdBlock and privacy protection are active the moment it opens

VidMost runs on Windows 10/11 and macOS 14+.

Browse Normally — Protections Run by Default

VidMost is built on Chromium, so ordinary browsing generally works on sites that support a modern Chromium browser. Exact behavior can vary by site, especially for custom media players, sign-in flows, and anti-automation controls.

  • AdBlock attempts to block common intrusive ads, banners, and pop-ups as you browse
  • Privacy protection blocks many known third-party tracking requests by default
  • Browser history is stored on your device; service data is handled separately as described in the Privacy Policy

The protections start without per-site setup, but no blocker can guarantee identical results on every site. If a page relies on a blocked request, its behavior may differ until the relevant protection is adjusted.

Open the Side Bar — Your Toolbox in One Keystroke

The Side Bar is a one-keystroke drawer on the right edge of the browser. It keeps page-specific media tools visible without crowding your tabs or pages.

Inside the Side Bar you’ll find:

  • Detected resources — a live list of standard video and audio resources exposed by the current page
  • Batch tasks — download tasks collected in one place for monitoring and management
  • Link Library access — save supported video pages with their source context and return to them later

Tap the keystroke once and the toolbox is there. Tap again and it’s gone.

Pin a Video with PIP

Picture-in-picture lets you move a compatible web video into a floating mini-player that stays above other windows while playback and the source page remain active. Availability depends on the site and player.

  1. Start a compatible video in its source tab
  2. Click the PIP button when the player makes it available
  3. Resize, snap to a corner, or fullscreen anytime

The free tier currently provides one active PIP window.

The Link Library is a richer take on bookmarks — for the pages you actually want to come back to.

  • Save a supported video page with its title, source, and preview
  • Browse automatic groupings based on the site and page type
  • Find saved pages visually instead of digging through browser history
  • Stores the URL and metadata only — no page contents

Your saved links live locally on your device. Keep them, export them, or delete them on your own terms.

A Typical Day with VidMost

  1. Browse normally. AdBlock and privacy are already on.
  2. Open the Side Bar. Review detected resources or keep an eye on batch tasks without leaving the page.
  3. Save what’s worth coming back to. Add a supported video page to the Link Library so its preview and source context are easier to find later.
